Mark works closely with all colleagues in Fapas but also consults and collaborates with other colleagues in Fera and externally. His responsibilities include advising on all aspects of proficiency tests, co-ordinating the Fapas Advisory activities, new product development in proficiency testing, developing bespoke schemes and supervision of student projects. Mark's background is in analytical chemistry, specifically chemical residues testing using mass spectrometry. He moved away from the laboratory bench to join Fapas in 2009.
Mark is an author or co-author of over 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers and a book chapter and continues to publish work on proficiency testing data. Mark travels extensively to speak at conferences and workshops, to meet customers and our international agents. Mark is a Member of the Royal Society of Chemistry and the Fapas representative of the UK Proficiency Testing Working Group.
