Our scientists and researchers have a long track record of supporting government departments and other decision makers to monitor and evaluate agri-environment schemes and other programmes designed to support environmental sustainability in agriculture.
Fera brings together evidence and insights from across our work in agri-environmental stewardship, remote sensing, spatial analysis and mapping, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), pollinator research and pesticide usage surveys.
By assessing and modelling the ways that economic, agricultural and social activities and behaviours are shaping land use and impacting the environment, we help decision makers to predict how landscapes will look in the future and provide advice on measures to influence land management in positive ways.

Our land use and sustainability specialists can devise bespoke studies and assessments, working closely with farmers and industry on everything from surveillance and data gathering to collating and analysing data for public consumption. Our major customers include Syngenta, BASF, ADAS, as well as government organisations such as Defra, Natural England, the Health and Safety Executive, and the European Commission.
