Globally recognised provider of proficiency tests, running over 400 tests annually across an extensive range of matrices and analytes
A single sample taken by an ecologist at any time during the newt breeding season can determine their presence or absence, saving you time and money
As well as accredited analyses for a range of matrices from food producing animals. Fera also provide bespoke method development solutions and un-accredited analyses for other analyte/matrix combinations. Processed meat and samples high in fat may present an analytical challenge and require additional method development prior to analysis and as such cannot always be analysed using accredited methodology. Please get in touch using the contact details on this page to confirm testing requirements and accreditation status if unsure.
Fera’s ISO 17025 accreditation status can be found at https://www.ukas.com/download-schedule/1642/Testing/.
NSAIDs can be used in the treatment of colic and musculoskeletal disorders in horses, infectious diseases in cattle, and as an aid in the treatment of mastitis in sows and dairy cows. The veterinary medicines residues team at Fera employ leading testing procedures to analyse your food samples for the presence of a comprehensive range of Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
The use of the NSAIDs are strictly controlled, and maximum residue limits (MRLs) have been defined in Commission Regulation (EU) 37/2010 (or as amended) for a range of food producing species. Our analysis provides the evidence required by regulators to verify that the levels of NSAIDs within your food products are compliant with the MRLs permitted.
Our scientists can screen your food samples for NSAID residues. These include: milk, kidney (from cattle, pig, sheep, and horse), as well as muscle (cattle and horse). Our extensive analytes list of NSAIDs encompasses the following individual drug residues: Carprofen, Diclofenac, Flunixin / 5-Hydroxyflunixin, Ibuprofen, Ketoprofen, Meloxicam, Naproxen, Niflumic acid, Oxyphenylbutazone, Phenylbutazone, Tolfenamic acid, and Vedaprofen.
Fera’s proven analytical procedure for the analysis of NSAID residues is accredited to ISO17025 by UKAS. The expert scientists implement analytical methods based on liquid chromatography–tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS), and these methods have been validated in accordance with the principles set out in Commission Decision 2002/657/EC.
Confirmatory analysis, where required, will be at the same value as the analysis performed. Fera will contact you beforehand to establish if the additional analysis is required. The delivery time for confirmatory results will be 10 working days from your instruction to proceed.
