The highly competitive award ceremony covered six categories offering a platform for growers, agronomists and suppliers of potato equipment or crop protection to demonstrate a commitment to raising industry standards.

Fera’s submission for the Innovation Award focussed on the fantastic work the team have done to set the UK service standards for Potato Cyst Nematode (PCN) testing, identification, viability and monitoring.

Dr Thomas Prior, Principal Plant Nematologist at Fera Science, proudly collected our worthy award at the ceremony. Tom is a world leading expert on nematode taxonomy, with extensive experience of delivering high quality nematology diagnostics. He has led the industry in terms of provisions of scientific knowledge and publications, training and supervision of research students, ongoing support to the potato industry and the maintenance of the world’s largest nematode collection.
