As the UK Government starts to slowly lift lockdown measures, at Fera we understand and recognise the importance of our role in continuing in providing responsive support services to all of our clients and partners, working nationally and internationally.
With a high contingent of Key Workers, all departments at Fera have remained open throughout the lockdown period – with a large population also working from home. We’ve also been trying to help the UK National Testing programme by sending lab equipment to the Lighthouse Labs, standing up a volunteer scientist pool to help the local NHS testing labs and with a programme underway to attempt to validate a faster diagnostic tool for rapid screening of patients.
Fera will approach emerging from lockdown cautiously and with staff safety as our utmost priority. Fera is fortunate to operate from expansive laboratories in a secure, rural campus facility helping safe distance working, implementation of hygiene and other safety measures to manage the risk of transmission and safe commuting to work to protect our employees.
Whilst we develop new flexible work schedules and shift-patterns to increase responsiveness in this next period, our current operational status will remain unchanged and we will continue to offer our full scope of support, maintain current service levels and turnaround times. We will also uphold our travel restrictions, strict visitor policies.
In challenging times like these, now more than ever, we remain committed to our mission across all of our service lines … to protect you, what we eat and the world in which we live …
