Globally recognised provider of proficiency tests, running over 400 tests annually across an extensive range of matrices and analytes
A single sample taken by an ecologist at any time during the newt breeding season can determine their presence or absence, saving you time and money
This procedure is for determination of Dithiocarbamates in a wide range of unprocessed foods, sugar and infant formula. The methodology both identifies (screen) and quantifies residues within your food sample using state of the art Gas Chromatography/Mass Spectrometry (GC-MS) equipment. We can potentially test for processed foods - please get in touch to discuss. This data can ensure your production processes are fit for purpose, as well as providing strong evidence to regulators and consumers about the safety of your foodstuffs and compliance with various regulations, including Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs).
Fera acts as the National Reference Laboratory for the analyses of pesticide residues. We employ leading experts to carry out tests to confirm that food complies with regulatory requirements; ensuring consumers are not exposed to unacceptable levels of pesticide residues.
Dithiocarbamates are a broad chemical class including fungicides such as the ethylenbisdithiocarbamates, metam sodium and thiram. Dithiocarbamates are used across a range of fungicides, their wide-ranging advantages and relatively low effects on the environment have resulted in their widespread use. It is therefore important to ensure that good pesticide usage practices are being used, from which to ensure only safe foodstuffs are being offered to consumers. One of dithiocarbamates, thiram, is used as a fungicide both in the field and as a seed protectant. It is often applied on fruits and post-harvest on a number of seed crops
Strict regulations are enforced around the world to ensure the safety of foodstuffs for consumers, as well as ensuring production processes and the use of pesticides are correct.
