Globally recognised provider of proficiency tests, running over 400 tests annually across an extensive range of matrices and analytes
A single sample taken by an ecologist at any time during the newt breeding season can determine their presence or absence, saving you time and money
Fatty Acid Profiling (FAP) is used by our crop health experts to identify bacterial isolates. Bacterial cultures are raised onto specific media and analysed by gas chromatography using a Microbial Identification System (MIDI system). The profiles generated are then compared against commercially available FAP libraries as well as our own in-house libraries generated using isolates from the National Collection of Plant Pathogenic Bacteria (NCPPB).
The testing procedure is accredited by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS) to ISO17025 standards. This test has a rapid turnaround of just 7 working days after your samples receipt by our scientists.
When sending plant pathogens and invertebrate samples from outside England and Wales for testing please email the Crop health team (crophealth@fera.co.uk) who will issue you with the relevant Letter of Authority to ensure your samples are not delayed upon entry to the UK.
